I recently learned about a fellow Superman fan who’s in need of some help.
Travis Bigham, 22, is now at CNS Rehab in Dallas learning how to talk, swallow, walk and function again.
On July 25th, 2010 he was in a car accident that left him with a traumatic brain injury.
My friend Jamie Reigle is rallying our Super-Friends to send art or other items for an auction to help with Travis’ growing medical bills. Jamie has received autographs, signed books, artwork, baseball cards, comics, books, and more to send to the benefit event. Jamie said that since many of the attendees may not all be huge Superman fans like us that any items for the live and silent auction would be accepted. Jamie can be reached at sales@supercollectibles.com.
The super benefit event is Saturday, April 16 at the Hog Creek Icehouse (170 Branson Trail in Waco, TX) from noon until midnight. A “Benefit Fund for Travis Bigham” is set up at Extraco Banks (200 Hewitt Dr.Waco, TX 76712). T-shirts are also for sale (contact his aunt Mindy- mindypierce@hot.rr.com). This Thursday night at the next MSCA dinner meeting I’ll be gathering up any items folks here in Memphis would like to donate. See me at Garibaldi’s Pizza U of M location from 7-9pm. Dinner meetings are open to the public. Drawing on napkins and talkin’ toons are encouraged!
Be sure to stop by my table at the Superman Celebration in Metropolis, IL this June to sign a card for Travis and send him well wishes.
Thanks and stay Super!
