“Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice!” – My Recent Ghost With The Most Sketchards

Hey, gang- well, I blew my wife Nicki’s mind the other day when she found out that I had never drawn Beetlejuice..!

Nope, not once as a sketchcard, sketchcover, painting, or even a doodle.

Had to remedy that situation, so I drew 3 different versions of The Ghost With The Most – draw it once, draw it twice, third time’s a charm..!

I drew my first one, an animated Beetlejuice, at our MSCA Sat-Art-Day at 901 Comics East.

I love the cartoon, but haven’t watched all of the episodes…yet!

I’ve got the DVD box set and a few pieces of art from the series.

I also did a Beetlejuice sketchcard in my cartoony style…another first.

And my third card was of Michael Keaton from the recently released Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” movie. (You can see my Oscar card here.)

On all my Beetlejuice cards I used a #2 pencil, Copic markers, Pigma Micron pen, Gelly Roll pen, Prismacolor pencil, and finished it off with a light coat of Krylon Spray Fixative.

I plan on drawing more characters from both movies, the cartoon series, and the Broadway show.

You can hear me and Nicki talk about seeing the “Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice” movie and our history with the character on the latest episode (Ep67) of the “Drawing Funny” podcast, and my previous “Beetlejuice” episode (Ep29) which was my 1yr anniversary episode.

October 14th marks 4yrs of “Drawing Funny” and the start of the podcast’s 5th season!

In case you haven’t noticed, I’m a big fan of Beetlejuice– and this was before all of the recent sequel merch..! I’ll be setting up another Beetlejuice display at the Hernando Library’s lobby. It’ll be up through Halloween.

Oh, don’t forget- I have some of my prints for sale at the DeSoto Arts Council near the library and Hernando Court Square, and I’ll have some of my sketchcards, original art pieces, prints, stickers, buttons, and more at the upcoming Monster Market pop-up shop October 11-16 at The Medicine Factory – 85 Virginia Ave. in downtown Memphis, TN.

I’ll also be set up at Crosstown Concourse’s annual Zine Fest & Record Swap in October, and the inaugural Memphis Monster Con  at the Pipkin Building in November. You can hear me talk more about the Memphis Monster Con on the Doomday’s Krypt podcast by clicking here.
